The Summary

We currently have 202 active members, including 37 complimentary members.

Twenty seven (27) members who have not renewed for 2020 have been removed from the ‘active’ list, and they have been advised accordingly.

The Detail

One hundred and sixty five (165) members have paid for 2020.  This includes 17 who have paid to the end of 2021 and 24 who have paid until the end of 2022.

The 124 members who need to renew for 2021 and beyond will be sent renewal information during December 2020.

Because we have members now paid up until 31 December 2022, we have taken in additional membership fees – to the value of $7,029 (excl. of GST).

Changes to Membership Categories

Cessation of the ‘RMN-only’ option.

The ARS Council has decided that from now on, the Range Management Newsletter (RMN) will be open access – that is the moment it becomes available, it will be available to all those who access the website.

As a result the ‘RMN-only’ category of membership will no longer be available, given that the current issue of the Newsletter will be freely available to all.

As noted above, there are 15 members who have paid for ‘RMN-only’, with three of these having paid for memberships which do not expire until either the end of 2021 or 2022.

The remaining 12 members will need to renew for 2021, and they will be invited to upgrade their membership to ‘e-journal’ which will result in a modest increase in annual membership ($30).  We hope that these members – who will be contacted directly – will take up this option, and hence retain their membership of the Society.

Membership Categories for 2021 and Beyond

The categories of membership for 2021 and beyond are shown in the table below.

There has been no increase in membership fees since 2017, with the Society being able to maintain sufficient income flows from Biennial Conference registrations and the Special Issues of The Rangeland Journal.
