IYRP committees around Australia have been very busy getting the social media campaign up and running. You can help if you are on Linkedin, Facebook or Instagram. Please find their posts and share them amongst your networks; and ask any organisations that are linked to rangelands to do the same. IYRP wants to build their followers as quickly as possible. Positive stories are what we need, so please get in touch if you know of an interesting story or amazing project or land management practices that we can showcase. #IYRP2026 is our main hashtag, so please add this to positive and relevant stories you find and repost. Help us raise the profile of rangelands in Australia!
The International Rangelands Congress has several IYRP events. The first is the Traditional Indigenous Knowledge Forum on the Sunday before the Congress starts (1 June 2025). Additionally we have a Women in the Rangelands panel, which has women herders from Mongolia, India, Kenya, Tanzania as well as Spain and Hungary coming together for a panel discussion, and to tell us about their experiences. A couple of the women do not speak English, but they have interpreters traveling with them. IYRP is also running a couple of session to look at what is planned for 2026, and also to discuss what happens next, after 2026.
