ARS MEMBERSHIP UPDATE – MAY 2025

May 5, 2025

Matthew Fletcher, ARS Membership Officer. Email: membership@austrangesoc.com.au

I would like to thank ARS members for their patience over the past five months as we dealt with technical issues in the old membership database. After multiple unsuccessful attempts to fix the system, we decided to rebuild it with a modern platform.

Many members have contacted us with concerns about payment issues, accessing The Rangeland Journal, and correcting membership start dates. I sincerely apologise for these disruptions, and hopefully, those problems are now behind us.

The new membership system is now operational, and members can access The Rangeland Journal. However, we are still working through some issues, including missing editions of the Rangeland Management Newsletter. During the transition to the new website, some content also reverted to an earlier version, which we are addressing.

The ARS Council has also introduced a new membership category, ‘Early Career,’ to encourage greater involvement and participation in the ARS by early career practitioners. An early career member is defined as someone with less than five years of experience working in the rangelands. The discounted membership rate of $55 for a one-year membership will be available for up to three years.
