October Across the Outback Newsletter out now

The latest newsletter from the SA Arid Lands Landscape Board contains some great information (and fabulous photos!) on the Board’s recent and upcoming projects.  Topics discussed include the Carbon Farming Outreach Program, the hunt for the Bogong Moth, feral goat control, Indigenous Ranger gatherings, and stock losses from wild dog attacks.

 

Kidman Springs BeefUp Forum

A very successful BeefUp forum was held at Kidman Springs (also know as the Victoria River Research Station) in late August 2024.  Topics discussed include markets and exports, pasture utilisation and the effect on breeder performance, legume establishment, and genetics and reproduction.  Read more about this forum, as well as other interesting articles in the November issue of Agriculture and Biosecurity newsletter.

 

Does shelter increase calf survival rates in treeless paddocks?

There’s a role for everyone in the beef industry

Pastoral lease forum held in WA

A Pastoral Lease Forum was recently conducted during the Kimberley Pilbara Cattlemen’s Association (KPCA) Annual Conference held in Karratha.  This forum was held in response to an increase in landholder’s concerns regarding the efficacy of pastoral lease assessments.  Read more about the forum in Beef Central.
