Jaidyn Eastaughffe is a Rangelands Research Officer for the Northern Territory’s Department of Industry, Tourism and Trade – Livestock Industries. She has been based in Katherine, NT at the Katherine Research Station since the beginning of 2023.
Jaidyn has always had a passion for the environment and decided early on that her ideal job would involve the practical hands-on side of environmental/ agricultural science. Jaidyn graduated UQ in 2022 with a Bachelor’s degree in environmental science with a major in natural resources. Her honours research was on nitrogen availability in biological soil crusts in grazing lands of Northern Australia. The practical component of her honours year brought her across to Victoria River Research Station in the NT, which led her to her current role.
Jaidyn’s work in rangeland research includes investigating managing seasonal variability, fire, stocking rates and grazing strategies across the northern and central regions of the NT.
