ARS COUNCIL VACANCIES AND CHANGES TO THE DIRECTOR/SECRETARY ROLE
April 8, 2026
After nine years on Council — including nine years as Director/Secretary — Bob Shepherd’s term has concluded, and we are now seeking to fill this role.
Given the increased workload associated with the position, Council has decided to divide the Director/Secretary responsibilities into two complementary roles to make the workload more manageable.
- Director/Secretary
- Administration Officer
There will be some flexibility for the successful applicants to refine the division of duties; however, the core responsibilities for each role are outlined below.
Director/Secretary
Key responsibilities:
- Scheduling and announcing the six Council meetings plus the AGM, held each year
- Recording minutes at Council meetings and circulating drafts for review
- Monitoring and actioning correspondence sent to secretary@austrangesoc.com.au
- Assisting with preparation of the Annual Report
Stipend: $3,000 per year
Administration Officer
Key responsibilities:
- Recording minutes at the six Publications Committee meetings held annually
- Tracking and reporting on incoming and outgoing ARS correspondence
- Assisting with preparation of the Annual Report
- Providing backup support to the Director/Secretary
Stipend: $2,000 per year
These positions will be elected at the Annual General Meeting in May.
If you are interested in discussing either role, we would be pleased to hear from you. Please contact Pieter Conradie (President) at president@austrangesoc.com.au or 0438 848 023, or Bob Shepherd (Secretary) at secretary@austrangesoc.com.au or 0467 802 430.
